Marlborough Stirling

Consultancy Workshop

  • Conducted a one day workshop to identify the requirements of a Content Management System.
  • Generated company-wide support for deployment of Microsoft’s Content Management Server.
  • Helped define resources and infrastructure for the project.

Background

Marlborough Stirling is a UK-quoted financial services company, with branch offices throughout the UK, Europe, and the World. They have been trading since 1990 and their applications have been used throughout major financial institutions around the globe.

Objective

The company has an in-house design and development team and were looking for an organisation that could help define goals and targets for deploying a Content Management System for their Internet site. They knew they had the skills in-house to develop and deploy such a system but not necessarily the skills for project-managing and mapping-out the strategy for the project. They wanted to define a roadmap that would lead them to launching a successful deployment of Microsoft Content Management Server, taking in to consideration the global needs and multilingual requirements of the organisation. Marlborough Stirling were also very keen to reap the benefits of using a content management system that can assign editorial rights to users throughout the globe without losing control of brand guidelines and to allow integration of new companies acquired through acquisitions.

Result

Imano started by conducting a one-day workshop where they started to educate management about the benefits of deploying a content management system and, more specifically, Microsoft Content Management server. The workshop was used to identify the different roles within the organisation that would play an important part in the project, to lay the foundations of processes to aid in the smooth deployment of the environment, and more importantly ensure the successful day-to-day running of the system. The workshop was followed by a series of reports highlighting technical requirements and mapping out project plans for a successful launch. Using these recommendations Marlborough Stirling were able to deploy one of the largest installations of Microsoft Content Management Server ever.
